My Little Daredevil

This is Coop's latest trick. I don't know where he picked it up, but apparently it's more fun to ride a bike if you stand on the seat. The only problem? It doesn't move anywhere. That's fine with me. Hopefully this is just a phase and he doesn't do it when he's actually riding a real bike.

Last weekend at Grandpa and Grandma's house. He LOVED watching the dogs. It was FREEZING in Lewiston. I can't believe I never noticed the difference when I lived there before.

Finally, for those of you that know Coop he DOESN'T sit still EVER. He won't ever let me cuddle him or anything. A couple nights ago Brad and I were both amazed because he actually sat still for about five minutes next to Brad on the couch. We love when he does that.

Last, but not least Melissa came over to visit yesterday. Coop and Kolman love playing together. Here they were riding the bike together. They got on like this themselves. It was so funny. Yes, Coop has no pants on because he was about to take his nap. :)

What a Night!!

Happy Valentines Day first of all!
I don't know if any of you heard, but last night there was a HUGE storm in the valley. I got home around 3:30 and already I could not see a thing driving. I was praying Brad was already home because he has rear-wheel drive and slides all over the place. Anyway, we were both home...thank goodness and then the power went out about 4:30. Brad kept saying, "Don't worry it will come on again in ten minutes." Nope. 6:00 roles around and I realize I have no way of making dinner. We decided to order a pizza and said we would pick it up. Little did we know right when we hit Redwood Road we were at a standstill for about 45 minutes. Finally we reached a back road that we could take and we were plowing through about three foot high snow drifts and we couldn't see anything. We thought it was a wreck, but come to find out they closed the road to Eagle Mountain and no one could get home! They said there had been a huge car pileup because of the blowing snow. These cars were just stranded on the road. Come to find out this road and the road through Lehi was backed up FOREVER and it took people HOURS to get home. People were staying overnight in the Smith's here in Saratoga and also in the dentist office here. We heard on the radio there was even a lady having a baby in her car because they couldn't get anywhere. Well, Brad and I just hung out together huddled by our gas fireplace and listening to the radio. We finally went to bed around 11:00 and about 12:30 we realized the power had just come back on. Eight hours without power! That hasn't happened to me in a long time. It makes you realized how your whole life almost runs on electricity!

Cold and getting colder with not heat!

Thank heavens for tea lights.

Does anyone know how to get wax out of carpet?

Our house this morning

Our neighborhood this morning.

Where we huddled to stay warm...okay a bit dramatic :)

We survived! I hope everyone else made it home alright!

Booo

Okay, so I don't know how many of you know this...but I love TV. This all started right when I got DVR (TIVO). I absolutely LOVE DVR. It is the most amazing invention. Well, Brad decided that he wanted HD in December. The only way we were going to get this was to cancel with Dish Network and re sign-up again to get a better deal. Well, I'm STILL waiting to sign up. It has been alright since we have free cable with our HOA. I have resorted to recording things on my VCR...(I feel so old-fashioned).
One of the show's Brad and I LOVE is Friday Night Lights. Well, Friday night rolled around and I was so excited to watch the last new episode this year...possibly the last show ever. We went to turn on the TV at 7:55 and lo and behold NO TV!! No signal, nothing. Come to found out a snowplow ran into something in our area which knocked out everyone's TV. Let's just say that I've been VERY bored. They are not in a hurry to fix it apparently which means no Grammy's for me tonight. I told Brad that I'm calling Dish Network tomorrow no exceptions!
Also, I know it sounds like I'm an extreme couch potato, which I may be, but I also like to think I'm a little educated. I actually read quite a bit. Let me know some good books you've read lately. Also, if anyone else is on goodreads.com let me know! Who knows how long I'll be without TV!
