Ryker's Blessing

We had a wonderful Sunday this past week. We finally blessed Ryker. He turns three months this Saturday so it was about time. He looked so adorable and he was such an angel the whole day. The lunch at the park was awesome and there was minimal wind which is odd for Saratoga. We had so much support from family and friends. Thanks everyone!

Oops.....

Well, for those of you that attended Ryker's blessing or are in my ward you saw that Brad had a new look. Let's just say it works...but it's not his best look (sorry honey)...hehe. Well, let me tell you the reason why Brad has a new look.
Saturday night I was frantically pulling together the last of the food for the blessing. I have told Brad that he needs to get his hair cut somewhere, I'm just not that great at it, and I'm getting worse. The last time I cut it I seriously clipped off his sideburns. He had quite the 80s look for a while. Anyway, he still asked me to cut his hair at like 10 at night when I had a ton of stuff to do still. Well, I told him I would and he sat down. I started clipping with a 1 inch guard because I didn't want that much off. Well, he decided they weren't working that great and so he said they needed oil. He kept bugging me about it until finally I gave him the clippers and the oil. I ran in the other room, came back out and he handed me the clippers. I grabbed it and started where I left off when Brad all of a sudden started yelling. Turns out he didn't put the guard back on and I didn't notice. Well, this was the result:

I had tried clipping it a little shorter to blend but that didn't work. The cut was right in the middle!! I ended up using 1/8 inch guard...and he ended up deciding he liked it....I hope he changes his mind! I think since he can still grow hair, he should have hair :).

The finished product:

And that is why my husband looked like he was also undergoing chemo while he hobbled up on crutches to bless Ryker. I can laugh about it now.

The Zoo!

Last Friday I met with some of my best girls, Georgana, Britany, Tara and Lesli, and we headed to the zoo. We had a great time together and the kids had so much fun. This is the first time that Coop has really loved the zoo. He knew the animals and was excited to see them. Ryker was such a champ and stayed in his stroller WITHOUT crying the whole time. I just love that little guy!!

Side Note: So, Ryker has been sleeping about 10-11 hours straight every night for the past week...HEAVEN. Love him!!

It was so fun to interact with my friends kids. I can't believe that they are getting so big. I love that I have stayed so close to my friends from high school. We always have a great time together. Love you girls!

Park

A couple weeks ago Coop, Ryker and met up with Tiffany and Addy at the park. We had a great time! It was nice to be able to visit with Tiffany while Addy and Coop were able to go play together. They play together so well and we got some cute pics!

After the park we headed back to the Simmons house for a sec. Tiffany and I were talking when all of a sudden we look over and here's Coop...

Hopefully he won't get too into this kind of stuff...his dad wouldn't be too happy. :)

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you great moms out there!! My Mother's Day has been more like a Mother's weekend. Brad decided to surprise me with a nights stay at the Zermott Resort in Midway on Friday night. We had a great time together. Thanks to Brad's sis Lori for watching Coop.
Today Brad decided to make me breakfast. He can't do a ton on crutches still, but he was able to whip up some amazing pancakes.
We actually made it to three hours of church this week. I hadn't been to three hours forever because I was on bedrest, then came Ryker and finally Brad's injury. It was so nice to be able to go to all three hours. It's amazing how different two kids can be. Ryker is such a champ. He didn't cry ONCE all three hours. Total opposite of Cooper!!
I love being a mom. It is so challenging and rewarding. I learn more about myself from my little boys then anything else. It definately helps you see the things you need to work on in your life. Whenever I'm feeling far from perfect and down on myself all I need to hear is Coop say, "Mom, I love you mom" or "Mom, you're darling." All I need to see is Ryker and how his face just lights up whenever he sees me. These are the things that make motherhood so worth it!!

A quick pic of me with my boys after church!

Cute & Crazy...

Not a ton has gone on this past week...but I do have two stories worth remembering.

The Cute Story:
Walmart has opened!! I don't know if everyone out here is excited, but I sure am!! It is so nice to have all the conveniences of Walmart just a couple minutes away instead of twenty mintues through construction-ridden roads.
Anyway, Brad was just as excited as I was :) so we decided to take the kids and go have a look on opening night. We were walking around checking out the layout and found the pet aisle. All of a sudden Coop takes off running. We catch up to him and he is so excited. Then when he is about to burst he says, "Mom! Dad!! It's Dorothy! Dorothy is here!!" For those of you that watch Elmo's World you totally know what I'm talking about. Yup, we found the goldfish. So cute!!

The Crazy Story:
This morning I was talking to Brad while he was getting ready for work. He was walking (with crutches) when all of a sudden he tripped. He fell, catching himself with his hurt foot before falling on the floor. I just held my breath and he kneeled down on the floor and was laying on the bed saying it hurt. I kept asking him these questions and he didn't answer when all of a sudden he slumped to the side and and was just kind of sitting there. I hurried over and he was sitting there staring straight ahead and it clicked. He wasn't ignoring me, he was passed out! I started slapping his face and repeating his name but no response. It was the craziest thing because his eyes were opened and he was just staring straight ahead. Then he started jerking a little so I was trying to clear away the crutches behind him so I could lay him down. While I was doing this, all of a sudden he just sat up and asked me what was going on. I asked him if he was in a lot of pain, but he said it wasn't too bad. Who knows why he passed out then...I've seen people pass out before, but not this close up. Also, I thought it was so weird he had his eyes open. It was like he was comatose. Afterwards, I was pretty shaky for a while. He sat in bed for about an hour saying he felt woosy, but apparently is now doing fine. Hopefully this won't happen again!!
