Car Seat
So Coop turns one on the 27th and that means that we have to get him a forward facing car seat! (YEAH)!! I am excited because hopefully that means he'll be happier in the car. So, I have looked a little bit..but I know the best way to find a carseat I would like is to ask people that have already bought one. So, if anyone has opinions on what kind of car seat to get let me know. I want to make sure I like it because it will be around for a while. Thanks!

I got a Graco as a gift when Miles was born. We had it for a while, but I hated it. The strap to tighten and loosen the straps was horrible and it always made one side tighter than the other. About two weeks ago we bought the Britax Roundabout. It was kind of pricey ($200+), but I love it. I am like you, I wanted one that I liked so I could keep it for a while. It is small and compact, but still roomey enough. It has a lot of upgrades that make things easier and more comfortable. Plus cute covers. We got the grey houndstooth.
I really love Graco for infant carriers, but we've chosen to go with Evenflo for the bigger car seats. They have a better safety rating than some of the others out there (especially the ones in the same price range). We got the Evenflo Triumph DLX for Sarah and just moved Emma into it - it can go backwards or frontwards. It cost about $150, but you can get the same one with different materials for cheaper. The disadvantage is that it is kind of wide, so if you're planning on having 3 or more kids, you'd need an SUV to fit the 3 car seats. Otherwise, it's no trouble.
I also love my Britax roundabout but if I were to buy one again I would get the Britax Marathon because they can grow a lot taller. The Roundabout holds them until 40 lbs but Abby is only 30 and has grown out of the height. I am so bumbed because it was expensive. I LOVE the car seat in every other way though. I definately recommend it!!!!! They are safety tested at a higher speed than all the american made carseats. Go to their website and check them out. I will never buy another brand. I just wish that my baby carrier was Britax because it is awesome also. Happy shopping!!!
